  • Stumbled across “Being Human” on BBC3 last night after previously avoiding. Unexpectedly, and pleasantly, not terrible… #
  • Looking at Coventry, where I did my first degree, on Google Street View. Still a dump 20 years on. #
  • Have to switch to my ninja PC to finish this Adobe Illustrator tutorial. My old Mac Mini isn’t cutting it. Anyone got a spare Mac Pro? #
  • And the URL that goes with that last Tweet: http://bit.ly/kJYMA #
  • Finally caught up on the BSG finale. Reactions to it certainly sort the left brainers from the right brainers. #
  • The Onion must have been reading my review copy before it’s been subbed: http://bit.ly/l6jd8 (WARNING: Very Sweary Indeed so NSFW). #
  • Spotify would really benefit from targeted ads. I’m listening to The Fall & a spot plays for teeny bop RnB. I am not your market, Zarif. #

  • Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle is the best thing since sliced television. And if you watch it, they’ll make more. Mondays, BBC 2 at 10. #
  • Twitter feature suggestion: filter that removes spoilers from my tweet feed. Call it the “STFU switch”. #
  • RT @webusermagazine: Fans of the show Primeval can view a special Twitter feed for the new series. <- (Huh? There are *fans* of Primeval?) #
  • Spent today applying service packs to fresh installs of XP and VIsta. Here’s a novel idea: finish your software *before* you release it! #
  • Just consolidated Hotmail, Yahoo and a couple of POP3 adresses into one Google Mail account. I want to have Gmail’s children. #
  • Electricity bill just arrived. Used 15% more than this time last year. Cost is double. Huh? #

  • New version of Windows Live Calendar appears to have broken Outlook Task compatibility with Outlook Connector. Well done MS. #
  • Not at SXSW but the premise of a talk about “how do we make money from UGC” makes me very, very angry. This is fake DIY. http://bit.ly/2O7Z #
  • Need extra cash for Hackintosh – and so to eBay with old DVD box sets I go. It was beautiful while it lasted, Buffy, but now we must part. #
  • Can’t stop thinking about Brass Eye in the serious bits of comic relief. The clichéd and cheesy presentation devalues the cause it supports. #
  • Wondering whether @charlesarthur realises that SFW? (with question mark) has a more established Internet meaning than “safe for work”. #
  • Next to Google Voice – 1 number for VoIP, mobile, landline configured online – UK ENUM launch looks outdated. But, no Google Voice in UK… #
  • Caught up with Red Riding last night. Brilliant cinematography and direction for telly – like Blue Velvet made in Huddersfield. #
  • Must remember to check iTunes for bargain audiobooks. E.g. Cormac McCarthy’s The Road is £2.95. £11.95 at Audible. #
  • Whoops – hit send before editing… should have been @ruthellenbrown – no idea who @ruthelle is… #
  • World of twitter, meet my partner: conceptual artist, professional painter, photographer and small furry mammal impressionist @ruthelle#
  • Ace on paper, disappointing in practice: Jack White’s new group The Dead Weather cover Numan’s “Are Friend’s Electric” http://bit.ly/8UwAu #
  • Looking at other people’s Spotify playlists makes me think that popular music lessons should be a compulsory part of the curriculum. #
  • Think I’ll go with this nice little Intel motherboard bundle for my Hackintosh. What’s that? Council Tax bill? Bugger. http://bit.ly/z0nUC #
  • Oh dear. Robert Smith, hero of my youth, is an idiot: http://bit.ly/viAS6 #
  • After ingesting so much dark, formulaic, American Sci-Fi this week, feeling thankful for my previously forgotten DVD purchase of “Blackpool” #
  • Today’s 400 millionth Watchmen review. Remarkable verisimilitude, doesn’t feel like 2&3/4 hrs, but wish Gilliam had directed. #
